Understand the mechanic of how the sessions feature works; it’s all about setting your preferences, and queuing your favourite finds for when you’re ready to sit back and enjoy.
Everyone else gets the free tier. The locked controls stay visible, so you can see what they do.
STAGE 01
Start a session
Hit Session in the header and choose Start New Session. Every click starts a brand-new one, so this is always a fresh session — to reopen something you kept, click its circle in the Session dropdown instead. You need to be signed in; sessions are tied to your account, which is what lets them survive a closed tab.
The header button then carries your session — its name, and a red badge counting what’s in the pool. The active/paused status pill lives inside the dropdown, not on the button. It follows you around the site, so you never have to go back somewhere specific to manage it.
On the free tier you get two saved-session slots. When both are full, Start New Session is disabled until you delete one.
STAGE 02
Fill the pool
Your session holds a Session Pool of clips. There are three ways to put something in it, and they don’t all use the same words — here’s the set.
On any video card“Pool” → “In pool”
Hover a video card — browse pages, search, your likes and favourites, and the Session Wall itself all carry it. The chip reads “Pool” and flips to “In pool” once the clip is in. It disables at that point: to take something back out, use the Session Pool list in the dropdown, not the chip. It shows wherever you have a session running or a saved slot to add to. With more than one session on the go it opens a small “add to which session” picker.
On a video’s own page“Add to Session”
In the action bar under the player. On narrower screens it shortens to “+ Session”. Once the clip is in, the button just greys out — remove it from the dropdown rather than from here.
A whole collection“Add to Pool”
In the collection sidebar’s ⋯ menu. This adds the whole collection in one go — not just the video you’re on — and it does not start a session for you (with none running it tells you to “start one from the session menu”). Pass adds a Collections import tab inside the player that bulk-fills the pool the same way.
Pool cap:10 clips on free·uncapped with Pass·drag rows to reorder, in the dropdown
STAGE 03
Tune what it pulls
A new session starts unfiltered — it’ll pull from everything until you tell it otherwise. Open Add Configuration in the dropdown and add any of these three. They’re opt-in and removable, and they steer both the Session Wall and anything the player pulls in on its own.
Category Preferences
Which categories the session draws from.
Content Type
Narrow the session to the kinds of content you’re after.
Performers
Feature specific performers so the session leans on their content.
How much of the wall has to obey that steering is a separate dial — the Session Wall guide covers it. Free sits at the focused default; Pass can loosen it.
STAGE 04
Save it
Name it and pick an icon
Saving requires both so that you'll recognise the slot at a glance later.
Saved means permanent
Until you save, the session is temporary and the dropdown counts down from seven days. Saving stops the clock.
Star your default
The starred slot loads itself when you next arrive, so your usual setup is just there.
Free gives you two saved sessions. When both are full, delete one before starting another, or pick one to save over when you save. Pass gives you more, enough to keep separate moods parked and switch between them without rebuilding anything. Open a saved session any time by clicking its circle in the dropdown.
STAGE 05
Watch it
Two ways out of the dropdown, depending on what you’re after.
GW PlayerDesktopTablet
The multi-slot wall that serves several videos at once with your chosen layout.
The Pool chip appears once you have a session running or a saved slot to add to. Start one from the Session button in the header and the chip shows on video cards — hover the thumbnail and it reads “Pool”, then “In pool” once the clip is in. On a video’s own page the button is “Add to Session”.
How can I “add videos from the wall”? Which wall?
The Session Wall activates when you start a session. Find it on the My Goonwall page — there’s a tab on the far left for your current session. The wall is space for discovering what matches your session; to pool something you spot there, hover over it and click “Pool”.
How many videos can I pool?
Ten on the free tier — you’ll see “Session pool is full — 10 videos on the free plan” when you hit it. With Pass it’s unlimited.
What happens if I never save?
An unsaved session is temporary, and the dropdown shows the countdown — “Unsaved session — expires in 7d”. Save it into a slot and it stops expiring, so you can close the tab and come back to it whenever.
Can I have more than one session on the go?
You run one at a time, but you can keep sessions parked in slots and open whichever you want by clicking its circle. Free gives you two slots; Pass gives you more. Star a slot to make it load automatically when you next visit.
Does any of this work on my phone?
Building and managing a session does — the dropdown becomes a bottom sheet, and the Session Wall works fine. The multi-slot player is widescreen-only; a small screen will tell you to come back on a bigger one.
